It winds me up no end when you are completely unable to manage your cap properly and end up cutting guys you would be able to keep if you could just adjust the way the compensation for the players you want to re-sign is structured (like every team in the league does). There were still big problems with the franchise version though. I thought the last version had the best gameplay I have ever had in a Madden game (admittedly that may be faint praise). Didn't even buy it last year.each year they insist the product will be better, but there is no incentive for them to do a good job with the exclusive ocntract they have. Then I bought 06 and it was the same but with different bugs and a few useless new trinkets. The menus are generally poorly designed and difficult to navigate, and show a real lack of UI knowledge.Īnyway, This series was a great franchise mode in 05 or so. Play a few years after that and you will be lucky if anyone is over a 95 in the whole league, much less the 5 or 10 players at each position that high when you start. Players simply do not improve enough and if you play for 15 years or so all the current players are still the only elite players in the league. So after 4 or 5 seasons there is effectively no salary cap unless you are horrible at the game.Īnother thing which needs sorting out is player progression. I mean that should be one of the very first things you get straight with franchise mode, the financial. For three straight years they have not even gotten something so simple as having player salary demands scale correctly with league revenue.
